Weddings, Baptisms and Funerals

Weddings

Congratulations! If you have come to this page it means that you are in a relationship of mutual love and trust and wish to honour that love in a formal way. Christians worship a God of Love, so must always rejoice when love is found.

Click here to find out how Saint George's can help you to celebrate your very special day. It is the policy of the Church of England that you are welcome to marry in church whatever your beliefs, whether or not you are baptised and whether or not you go to church.

Baptisms

Everyone is welcome to have their children christened in one of St. George's churches. During the Christening service your baby will be baptised. There are around 10,000 babies and children baptised in the Church of England every month. We also welcome adults who want to be baptised.

Your child is precious to you and precious to God. At Baptism you make a decision to start your child on a journey of faith. The church and the godparents support the family and the child in this decision.

Funerals

A funeral marks the close of a human life on earth. It is the opportunity for friends and family to express their grief and to give thanks for the life which has now completed its journey in this world.
